Our actions around the world

Beauval Nature, programmes that are carefully selected and effective in the field

The Beauval Nature association was created to implement, develop, and support both conservation actions for the preservation of the world’s biodiversity, and also scientific research programmes in order to better understand and more effectively protect animals. Recognised as being in the public interest, Beauval Nature has been working in the field for 15 years.

Each programme is carefully selected and operates effectively in the field: the reintroduction of condors in the Andes; the protection of cotton-top tamarins in Colombia; the reintroduction of gorillas born at the ZooParc in Gabon; the conservation and study of western chimpanzees, classified as critically endangered; the monitoring, and protection of orangutans in Malaysia; the construction of nests for ground hornbills; the funding of radio collars for the reintroduction of pandas in China… These are just some of the many examples of the actions of our partner programmes.

LPO Refuge

The ZooParc de Beauval has been certified as a 'Refuge LPO’ (League for the Protection of Birds Refuge) since June 2021. This distinction is recognition of the ZooParc’s many years of dedicated work to promote local biodiversity. To mark the occasion, the Beauval Nature association pledged to support two conservation programmes coordinated by the LPO: the protection of the European mink and the protection of birds of prey.

Care Centre

In April 2023, The Beauval Nature - Françoise Delord Care Centre for local wildlife was opened close to the ZooParc de Beauval. Its objective is to take in and treat injured animals so that they can be released back into their natural environment. This centre was named in honour of Françoise Delord, an animal lover and founder of the ZooParc de Beauval. Birds of prey, garden birds, small mammals, amphibians, reptiles… the centre can accommodate up to 700 animals at any one time.
