Privacy Policy

Purpose of the Policy

Association Beauval Nature pour la Conservation et la Recherche, hereinafter “Beauval Nature”, undertakes to protect your privacy and comply with applicable personal data protection legislation.

This “Personal Data Protection Policy” aims to provide all appropriate information enabling you to understand (i) your rights in terms of personal data processing and (ii) how your personal data is processed when using the Beauval Nature website (www.beauvalnature.org) or interacting with Beauval Nature or any of its partners.

Definitions

To provide a perfect understanding of the terms used in the Policy, below are a few notions defined by applicable regulations and used in this Policy.

  • "personal data": any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person; an "identifiable natural person" is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person;
  • "processing": any operation or set of operations which is performed on personal data or on sets of personal data, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction;
  • “data controller”: the natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing; where the purposes and means of such processing are determined by Union or Member State law, the data controller or the specific criteria for its nomination may be provided for by Union or Member State law;
  • “data processor”, the natural or legal person, public authority, agency or any other body processing the personal data on behalf of the data controller.

Who is the data controller?

Beauval Nature acts as data controller for all personal data processing activities described in this policy.

What data is collected?

The categories of personal data collected vary depending on the purpose of the processing activity in question.
In general, Beauval Nature will primarily collect data relating to your identity, and notably:

  • Your surname
  • Your first name
  • Your date of birth
  • Your postal address
  • Your email address
  • Your mobile phone number;
  • Where applicable, data relating to your work life when submitting a Conservation or Research project to Beauval Nature;
  • Where applicable, your bank details and data relating to financial transactions in case of sponsorship or donations made via our website.

When your personal data area collected using online forms, only the fields marked with an asterisk are required, all other fields being optional. If required data is not collected, Beauval Nature will not be able to pursue the purpose of the processing activity in question.

What are the purposes and legal bases for the processing of your data?

Beauval Nature may process your personal data for various purposes depending on your interactions with our services.

Beauval Nature may also act in collaboration with SAS ZooParc de Beauval in order to carry out certain personal data processing operations, and SAS ZooParc de Beauval may act in the capacity of Beauval Nature partner or processor depending on the nature of said operations.

Determined to adopt a high level of transparency as regards the use of your nominative information, below is a description of the personal data processing operations that Beauval Nature may carry out during our interactions with you:

Who are the personal data recipients?

By default, the only persons authorised to process your personal data are members of Beauval Nature specifically authorised for this purpose.
Some Beauval Nature partners may also be the recipients of your nominative data, and notably:

  • SAS ZooParc de Beauval, as part of the hypertext redirections from the Beauval Nature Website for the processing operations specifically carried out by SAS ZooParc de Beauval and listed in its privacy policy;
  • The association HELLOASSO, which may process your bank details during the performance of financial transactions on the Beauval Nature website for the duration of completion of said transactions.

Where Beauval Nature uses the services of external providers to perform all or part of the purposes described above, the processing of your personal data is governed by contractual clauses signed with our partners.

Beauval Nature will not disclose or sell your personal data to third parties, save in the exclusive case in which Beauval Nature is ordered to do so by competent authorities pursuant to applicable regulatory requirements.

How long is your personal data stored for?

Your personal data may be stored for a varying period depending on the processing purposes pursued:

  • As regards management of sponsorship campaigns, your personal data is stored for the duration of the sponsorship activity. At the end of the sponsorship transaction, your data is temporarily archived before being destroyed;
  • As regards management of newsletters, your data is stored for the duration of your subscription;
  • As regards website cookies, your IP address is stored for a maximum period of 13 months;
  • As regards the management of requests or complaints, your data is stored for the duration required to process your request before it is definitively closed;
  • For the management of bank details collected during financial transactions, your data is stored exclusively for the period required to approve the transaction in question;
  • For event management: your data is stored for a maximum period of one year as from the end of the event in question.

In some exceptional situations, your data may be stored for a longer period than indicated above (including but not limited to: in case of a legal dispute, when ordinary and extraordinary remedies against the decision handed down are no longer available; in order to comply with certain legal requirements incumbent upon Beauval Nature; at the request of a legal authority, etc.).

What measures do we take to protect your personal data?

Protecting your privacy and safety is crucial to the way we create and provide our products and services. We take all appropriate measures to ensure your online and physical security and to eliminate risks of data loss and all other risks, by taking account of the risks posed by processing and the nature of the protected data. We also limit access to our databases containing personal data to authorised personnel with a justified reason for accessing such information only.

What are your rights over your personal data?

Pursuant to regulatory provisions, you have rights over your personal data:

  • A right of access to your personal data (the right to obtain confirmation from Beauval Nature whether your personal data is processed by us or not, information relating to the processing operations carried out and access to said personal data);
  • A right of rectification over any of your personal data that are inaccurate;
  • A right to erasure of your personal data. This right is conditional upon certain grounds specified in Article 17 of the GDPR ;
  • A right to the restriction of the processing of your personal data. This right is conditional upon certain grounds specified in Article 18 of the GDPR;
  • A right to the portability of your personal data (the right to receive your personal data and/or the personal data you have provided to Beauval Nature in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format). This right is conditional upon certain requirements specified in Article 20 of the GDPR;
  • A right to object to the processing carried out. This right is conditional upon certain requirements specified in Article 21 of the GDPR;
  • A right to decide the fate of your data after death and to choose whether Beauval Nature may communicate your data to a previously designated third party, or not.

Lastly, you have the right to lodge a claim with the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL) regarding the processing of your personal data. We encourage you to contact Beauval Nature prior to filing any complaint so that we may answer any requests and meet your expectations.

You are also informed, pursuant to Article 13-1, b) of the GDPR, that the entity Mon DPO externe has been appointed as Beauval Nature’s Data Protection Officer with the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés.
